we got many requests to profile this shy girl who seemed to be loved by many Naruto fans. i made this biography on the behalf of Sheryl and Meg, thanx for the requests ^,^ and for your information, the Japanese character of Hyuuga could also be read as Hinata (such a practical name, huh?).

Lil Hinata
Age : 3
since Hinata is the Souke (main house)'s elder child, she is supposed to be the heir to the clan. however, because her father deemed her a lost cause in her early teens - apparently of even lesser skill than her younger sister, Hanabi, and not even comparable to her cousin Neji from Bunke (branch family) - he disowned her and left her in the care of Yuuhi Kurenai, when she became Hinata's tutor, stating he didn't care if Hinata died on a mission. Hinata was once nearly kidnapped by a ninja from Kumogakure, yet Neji's father, Hizashi, came at the nick of the time and killed the intruder. however, this incident grew into a complicating case which led Hizashi to death.

Hinata vs Neji

Hinata's purpose in entering the Chuunin exam was to change herself and overcome her own weakness of character. This resolve is tested quite brutally in the third stage preliminaries, when she faces her cousin Neji in a battle. not only is this an abysmal match-up for her, as Neji knows Hinata's fighting style better than she does, but he has a bitter grudge against the Souke. he takes this opportunity to belittle her aspiration of changing herself, carrying a rather mentally unbalancing speech tinged with Calvinist Determinism with the conclusion that personality traits and ability are determined at birth and ultimately, people cannot change. as the ferocity of the speech and Neji's psychological warfare intensifies, Hinata is practically brought to tears, at which point Naruto shouts for her to stand up for herself. this surprises almost everybody present, including Hinata herself, as Naruto is essentially cheering for a stranger.

Chuunin Hinata
Age : 15
Hinata's vow to become stronger turns out not to be empty. like the rest of the rookie, she passes the exam and becomes a Chuunin during Naruto's absence. she makes her debut in Naruto Part 2 with her new looks, blossoming into a young woman, sporting longer hair and her pining for Naruto only magnified by his long absence (to the degree she can't even bring herself to greet him, opting to hide instead and fainting when he rather loudly detects her). it is possible that she is unsure of herself since she hasn't had a chance to talk to Naruto in the past two and a half years. after all, he is the one who gave her the courage to believe in herself.

HYUUGA ICHIZOKU
Father : Hyuuga Hiashi
Age : 42 (Jan 8)
after the duel of Naruto vs Neji at the Chuunin Exam, Hiashi - Hinata's father - decides to finally tell Neji the truth of his father's death. Hizashi was never sacrificed after all, he volunteered to die as an act of defying his fate, by dying not as a member of the Bunke for the sake of the Souke but as a Hyuuga, for the sake of his brother and family. though Neji refuses to believe this at first, Hiashi further hands him a letter by his father, where he addresses Neji and tells him to make his own fate. the long ongoing misunderstanding and resentment finally ends that day and the Hyuuga are reuniting.

Uncle : Hyuuga Hizashi
Age : 32 (deceased)
it was the incident with Kumogakure and Konohagakure's peace treaty. the two villages, which were at war with one another, apparently decided to sign a treaty, and for this representatives from Kumogakure arrived. that night, the ambassador from the Lightning country attempted to kidnap Hinata, revealing that the intention of the "treaty" was all along to get into the Fire country and acquire the secret of Byakugan. Hiashi detected the intruder and killed him at once, for which Kumogakure, absurdly, requested payback in the form of Hiashi's dead body. That day, Neji's father was sent to his death instead of Hiashi, and Neji grew up believing that his father was sent against his will to protect the Hyuuga clan's secret bloodline.

Cousin : Hyuuga Neji
Age : 16 (July 3)
Hinata and Neji actually shares the same fate in different terms. Hinata is a member of Souke but has less talent than her 5 years younger sister, Hanabi. meanwhile Neji who's a member of Bunke but has the best talent in Hyuuga clan. both of them need for the acknowledgment from people around them, esp. the Hyuuga family. and by the enlightment from Naruto ^ ^ they became more intimate than before. Neji understands his destiny as Bunke and helps Hinata in return.

FIRST LOVE
Name : Uzumaki Naruto
Age : 15 (Oct 10)
struggling against her low self-confidence and slowly gaining ground, Hinata often has to remind herself to try her best instead of just giving up, like she used to. she has a crush on Naruto of which he is completely unaware, and has admired him for his positive and inspiring attitude years before they graduated the academy when he was still regarded by almost everyone else as a good-for-nothing reincarnation of Kyuubi. Hinata's strong romantic affections for Naruto seem to be a rather glaring exception, as no other introduced girl of around Naruto's age has displayed anything of the sort for him.

KURENAI TEAM

Team Mates : Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino
Hinata is in a team led by Kurenai, together with the ferocious Kiba and extremly mysterious Shino. however Hinata seems to be more attached with Kiba than Shino. everyone in the team knows that Hinata has a crush on Naruto, thus Kiba sometimes teases her when Naruto is around which will make Hinata blushes or fell faint ^
