Abuelo - Grandfather

B

Bankai- This is the final form of the Soul cutter swords shinigami carry. It can only be achieved after 10 years of hard work, and there have been rare occasions where the time was shortened. Once this level is reached - the weilder has truely mastered the sword and can bend it at will. To become a captain you must have reached this level.

G

Gigai- An artificial body that is used by Shinigami for various purposes.

Gates of Hell - two huge double doors that have a skeloton on each side and three chains latching them together that bridge the doors.

M

Modified Soul - These are artificial spirits that were created to be inserted into dead humans, thus giving them a body and use it to fight off hollows. These mod-souls are gifted with strength that no normal human would be able to have.

Q

Quincy - "Destroyer" These are a race of people that have magic in there blood. This allows them to detect and battle against hollows. The main difference in them and the Shinigami are that while the shinigami try to purify hollows Quincy just kill them.

R

Reiraku - This is something that compresses and visualizes the spiritual aura in the atmosphere

Rukongai - This is where spirits in soul society live. They are sent to the north, south, east or west quadrant.

S

Shinigami - A spiritual entity that works for soul society. The shinigami are held to be just myth by many people, and are very difficult to see, even to those who can see ghosts. The shinigami usually wear black robes and have a sword, as well as some other usefull items from soul society headquarters.

Soul Candy- This is a form of medicine that was originally used to extract a soul from a body that refused to leave - but is used by Ichigo to leave his body so he can take his Shinigami form.

Spearhead - This was the name of the operation that was started by Soul Society to creat mod-souls for combat.

T

Target Leeches - these are leeches spit out by ghosts that are able to explode with a mere thought of the ghost.

U

Under-pod - A type of mod-soul that has enhanced leg strength.

Z

Zanpaku-to - These are the "soul cutter swords" that Shinigami use. They can penetrate spirits and can be transformed into many different forms.
