Akatsuki Ring Trivia

Akatsuki Ring Trivia

I found this article that was really interesting. It was about the different ring positions with different Akatsuki members. Here's some information:

Right thumb: 零 (rei, "zero"); worn by Pain,
Right index finger: 青 (sei, shō, "blue," "green"); worn by Deidara.
Right middle finger: 白 (bya, "white"); worn by Konan.
Right ring finger: 朱 (shu, "vermilion," "scarlet"); worn by Itachi Uchiha.
Right little finger: 亥 (gai, "sign of the boar"); worn by Zetsu,
Left little finger: 空 (kū, "sky," "void"); worn by Orochimaru.
Left ring finger: 南 (nan, "south"); worn by Kisame Hoshigaki.
Left middle finger: 北 (hoku, "north"); worn by Kakuzu.
Left index finger: 三 (san, "three"); worn by Hidan.
Left thumb: 玉 (gyoku, "jewel," "ball," also the black king in shogi); worn by Sasori and later by Tobi.

Their ring placement on their finger corresponds to their position on the summoned statue, with each member wearing the ring on a different finger. The rings seem important to each member, as Deidara was set on finding his when it was lost. Orochimaru also took his when he left the group, which apparently denied the group the ability to replace him with someone new. With Sasori's death, Tobi was eager to get his ring and join, but he would need to go through their entrance requirements first.

Inuyasha Introduction

Inuyasha Anime & Manga - The Background Information

Story Outline:
Set in the Sengoku Period of Japan (a period of domestic turmoil about 500 years ago), INUYASHA is a time travel fantasy adventure based on the hit comic book series by the same name. Kagome discovers that she can travel back and forth between the present and the Sengoku Period through a well at the shrine near her house. As she is drawn to another time, she is also drawn into a quest with Inuyasha for a powerful, sacred stone. However, many enemies hinder their way to success, and Inuyasha himself must often be controlled by Kagome. Not to mention that the stone is broken into pieces, making their job all the more difficult... Kagome discovers powers within herself that she never imagined existed. And she may owe these powers to her predecessor, the sorceress Kikyo. In the meantime, Inuyasha discovers that he has feelings for Kagome as they search for the stone together.

Official Review from the company that licensed Inuyasha in America - VIZ:

Rumiko Takahashi walks on the wild side in a manga tale of demons, monsters, and medieval Japan.
First serialized in Shogakukan's weekly manga magazine for teens and young adults, SHÔNEN SUNDAY, in 1996, Inu-Yasha tells the story of a modern-day Japanese girl named Kagome whose family lives in an old shrine. On the shrine grounds, there is an old covered well, about which there is a legend, as well as an ancient Go-Shinboku God-Tree, and her grandfather's shop selling mystical trinkets...in fact, nearly everything about the house has a legend of some sort attached to it. Kagome has grown up thinking that the legends are simple superstitions, but when a monster reaches out of the ancient "Bone-Eater's Well" one day and drags her into Japan's distant past, she has to quickly come to terms with the magic of another era.
That era is Japan's medieval past, the Sengoku-jidai, typically referred to as the "Warring States" era of Japan's Muromachi period (approximately 1467-1568 CE). During this time, rival warlords fought over territories with their private armies and built fortified castles to protect their conquests. Inu-Yasha takes place against this backdrop, and warlords and their armies frequently appear in its pages, often as the hapless victims of demonic attacks.
When Kagome arrives in the past, she's hailed by the local people as the reincarnation of their village's long-deceased priestess, Kikyo, who "killed" the demon Inu-Yasha by a mystical arrow before she died. This claim would seem to be the truth, as not only is Kagome the very image of the dead woman, but when she is wounded by an attacking centipede-demon, a glittering jewel emerges from the wound. This is the Shikon Jewel, or the "Jewel of Four Souls," which Kikyo died to protect. Kagome also proves to have special powers, including the ability to see magical objects. She may have even more powers, but Takahashi is content to reveal them gradually as the story unfolds.
Kagome quickly acquires a partner of sorts in her travels in the past-Inu-Yasha, the demon Kikyo mystically trapped (not killed) with her arrow. A half-breed, Inu-Yasha owes his demonic strength to his father, a legendary wolf-demon, but his mother was a mortal woman. Thus, Inu-Yasha has the outward appearance of a full demon, including doglike ears and claws, but his strength does not compare to a full demon's powers. For this reason, Inu-Yasha wants the Shikon Jewel, which has the power to transform him into a full-fledged monster. But he's not the only one who wants it-the jewel can increase anyone's powers with its magic, and over the course of the series, humans and demons alike are seduced by the the jewel's power.
The search for the Shikon Jewel becomes the center of Inu-Yasha's story when the jewel is shattered into multiple shards during an early battle. From that point, Inu-Yasha and Kagome have the unenviable task of tracking down all the shards, and piecing them back together again, and the story takes the form of a quest, with each episode introducing a new menace that has acquired a jewel shard. Interestingly, these travels aren't confined to the past. Kagome can use the well to travel back to her own time-which she frequently does to fetch supplies, such as her schoolbooks, snacks, and a bicycle-and the pair even discover jewel shards that have been passed down over the centuries.
However, Inu-Yasha isn't just a horror tale-there's even a bit of romance. As the saga continues, the relationship between Kagome and her dog-demon companion develops and becomes more complex. When Kagome first frees Inu-Yasha from Kikyo's spell, his first thought is to destroy the woman he quickly identifies as his "killer" by her smell, but an enchantment cast upon him by Kikyo's baby sister, Kaede (now an old woman and the village leader), enables Kagome to control Inu-Yasha with a word. That word, thought up by Kagome on the spur of the moment, is a typical bit of Takahashi humor-"sit," as one would say to a dog. (The spell is contained in the necklace of prayer beads around Inu-Yasha's neck which he is powerless to remove.) Inu-Yasha says he hates Kagome, but from the start, the reader suspects that there was more to his relationship with the priestess, Kikyo, than he's telling (a suspicion later confirmed). Over time, Inu-Yasha reveals more about himself and his half-human nature, and protects Kagome from danger, even when he has no particular reason to. Likewise, Kagome proves to be much stronger than he ever suspected she could be, standing up to their monstrous and supernatural opponents to protect others, even at great risk to herself.
As their travels continue, new companions join in the journey-Myoga, Inu-Yasha's flea-demon servant; Shippo, a fox-demon; and Miroku, a Buddhist monk. Each additional character subtly alters the situation, bringing out new aspects to Inu-Yasha and Kagome's relationship.

Pass Routes

These are the pass routes Monta and Yukimitsu run. They learned all of them during the Death March. They can also be interesting for everyone who wants to be a real Wide Receiver.

American Football Equipment

Neck Roll: This piece is used to protect the neck from Extreme impact and also prevents hyperextension.

Shoulder Pads: These are not only used for protection but it also helps to power through tackles and make it harder to be tackled.

Gloves: The primary use of these is for gripping the ball although it makes it a little more difficult to throw the ball.

Hip Pads: These are especially important because the brunt impact of the tackle is taken in the hips most of the time.

Thigh Pads: These also take a lot of impact on a tackle so these too are very important protection.

Knee Pads: These protect your knees when you hit the ground in any way and it is very important because a serious knee injury can end your career.

Cleats: These are very important to Sena especially because they dig into the ground and give you more traction and it makes your cuts a lot more effective.

Taiyo Sphinx Players

Mamoru Banba
Birthday: 6/5
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 50
Position: Center/Defensive Line
40 Yard Dash: 5.5 sec
Bench Press: 140 kg
The team captain and powerhouse of the team. He holds the high school record for the squat. Although he is more skillful than Kurita, he does not have as much raw strength as Kurita.
Kiminari Harao
Birthday: 8/22
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 08
Position: Quarterback
40 Yard Dash: 5.4 sec
Bench Press: 50 kg
Harao is Taiyo's quarterback. He bosses everyone around and puts the blame on them until Banba sets him straight. Compared to Hiruma, his skills as a quarterback are substantially less. His over-dependence on the Pyramid Line has made him slower and less able to avoid sacks. If he can't find a receiver, then he will just stand in place, rather than try to run the ball himself. He also tends to hold the ball too high when passing, which can lead to fumbles when he's tackled.
Niinobu Kasamatsu
Birthday: 2/21
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 66
Position: Tackle/Defensive Tackle
40 Yard Dash: 5.9 sec
Bench Press: 100 kg
The second-largest lineman on the pyramid line. He talks too much and is always getting the blame from Harao and apologizing to him. He starts picking on the Hah Brothers, but is beaten by Jumonji twice, first with the Juvenile Delinquent Murder Method, then with just a normal block. He's not very bright and is easily fooled by trick plays and trap blocks.
Ken Kamaguruma
Birthday: 12/8
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 98
Position: Cornerback
40 Yard Dash: 5.3 sec
Bench Press: 85 kg
Kamaguruma is a large first-year who plays cornerback. He's a bit dim-witted, but is a pretty good player. He gives Monta some trouble when he comes in during the second-half of the Taiyo game. He is "The Chariot" for Taiyo. His moves include "Chariot Bump" and "Chariot Attack". However, Monta's catching ability far outstripped his skills. It is also shown that his Bump Technique has no effect against Seibu's receiver Tetsuma.

Bando Spiders Players

This team relies on the extra points gained from field goals and try-for-point kicks made by their star player, Kotaro. Aside from their kicking game, they seem to be a weaker team that struggles through the tournament.
Sasaki Kotaro
Birthday: 11/30
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 99
Position: Kicker
40 Yard Dash: 5.5 sec
Bench Press: 65 kg
Kotaro is easily the best kicker out of all the high school teams in Japan—his kick success rate is 100%! He wants to prove that he is the best, so he tries to challenge Deimon’s kicker, but he has already quit the team. Kotaro helped Sena and Monta win a challenge against the soccer team before. He loves to say the word “smart” and always carries a comb for grooming his wild hairstyle.

Yuuhi Guts players

The Yuuhi Guts are famous for every sport except American Football and the team players morale is weak.
Atsumi Daisuke
Birthday: 8/11
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 09
Position: Quarterback/Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 5.5 sec
Bench Press: 85 kg
The captain of the underdog team Yuuhi Guts. He is a player who was not born with great talent, but makes up for it through sheer effort. He has been training constantly for his entire high school career in hopes of victory.

Amino Cyborgs Players

The Amino Cyborgs have a firm belief that victory can only be achieved through medical science, rather than spirit and determination. They're known as the Tournament Breakers, since they always choose one sport every year to enter, and win the championship of that sport.

Munakata Atsushi
Birthday: 4/1
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 29
Position: Tight End/Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 5.3 sec
Bench Press: 115 kg
The leader of the team from the famed Sports Medicine school, Amino. He has bodybuilder-like muscles honed by Amino’s sports-medicine techniques and has the ability to read the motions of his opponents. However, because of this reliance on science he underestimates the determination of opponents like the Devilbats.

Kyoshin Poseidon Players

A team that was underestimated until new rookie stars showed up and made Kyoshin’s the tallest football team in all of Japan. In addition to being tall, the players of Poseidon have great technique, making their defense deadly.

Kakei Shun
Birthday: 6/6
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 41
Position: Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 4.9 sec
Bench Press: 95 kg
Kakei is without a doubt one of the top-class linebackers in Japan, and also a very dedicated and serious athlete. He played football in America when he was in middle school and met a legendary Japanese running back called Eyeshield 21. This man inspired him to become the ace of his Middle School, but he went back to Japan before Kakei could play him again. Kakei now plays football in Japan in hopes of meeting this player again, and wants to beat Sena whom he calls a “fake” Eyeshield 21. As a player, Kakei makes great use of his unnatural height and reach to crush any offense.
Mizumachi Kengo
Birthday: 12/31
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 71
Position: Tackle/Defensive Tackle
40 Yard Dash: 5.0 sec
Bench Press: 90 kg
Mizumachi was formerly on the swim team, but joined football instead after finding out they were aiming for Nationals. He incorporates his talent for swimming as well as his awesome height in his play-style. Unlike the serious Kakei, Mizumachi is energetic and sometimes overly hyper, but he is still just as dedicated. He thinks of Komusubi from the Devilbats as a rival.
Kobanzame Osamu
Birthday: 9/9
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 14
Position: Quarterback/Team Captain
40 Yard Dash: 5.7 sec
Bench Press: 40 kg
A veteran of the Poseidons, Kobanzame doesn’t exhibit any awesome talents like his younger teammates. It seems sometimes he feels overshadowed by the new “stars” of Poseidon, but it is obvious that no matter what he is a captain who wants the best for his teammates. He may be afraid of the 1st years thinking badly of him, but the truth is that they respect him.

Zokugaku Chameleons Players

The entire team consists of gang members. The team was disqualified from the Spring tournament when he and some other players beat up a referee.

Habashira Rui
Birthday: 1/25
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 42
Position: Quarterback/Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 5.2 sec
Bench Press: 80 kg
Rui is the frightening, chameleon-like leader of the bike-riding delinquent football team Zokugaku Chameleons. Even though he acts mean and scares his teammates into following his orders, as well as sometimes resorting to dirty plays and tricks to scare opponents, he has a true love of football. He sees Deimon as a rival and ends up helping them out many times in order to someday get revenge for their loss against them.

Shenryuji Naga Players

The strongest team in the Kanagawa Prefecture. Not much is known about their skills but they have a player with natural talent at football. They also beat the Oujou White Knights without even using Agon.

Kongo Agon
Birthday: 5/31
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 02
Position: Unknown
40 Yard Dash: ?
Bench Press: ?
Agon is the twin brother of Unsui. Instead of training like his brother, he\'s likes it more to take things easy. He is lazy and comes late to matches. Kumabukuro, the reporter, says that he is a tremendous talent who is only seen once every 100 years. Even the coach wants everybody in the team not to act as his character and tells them that only Agon can act in this manner. This is because Agon\'s natural talent is on a genius level. This has made him arrogant and over-confident in his abilities. Throughout the manga, his "evil" nature comes out. He is shown to have a history with Hiruma, and his laid-back cool attitude becomes somewhat rattled whenever Deimon\'s quarterback is involved. Agon\'s arrogance in his own natural talents cause him to look down on those he feels are less talented. His reaction time of 0.11 sec is basically the fastest time that is possible for a human being to react.
Kongo Unsui
Birthday: 5/31
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 12
Position: Quarterback
40 Yard Dash: 5.1 sec
Bench Press: 95 kg
Unsui is a very strong player. His skills come from a lot of hard work and practice. In the previous year\'s match between the Ojo White Knights and Shinryuji Nagas, both he and his brother Agon (as first-year players) were sent out with 5 minutes to play and Ojo holding a 16-3 lead. Their entrance resulted in a 17-16 victory for Shinryuji. Although he seems to be an amazing athlete, he seemed to fade into the backround when his brother was around. Far more serious and intense than Agon, Unsui is much better liked, as opposed to feared like his brother is.
Hosokawa Ikkyu
Birthday: 1/9
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 33
Position: Cornerback/Split End
40 Yard Dash: 4.9 sec (backwards!)
Bench Press: 65 kg
Ikkyu\'s true skill lie in his running techniques. He has the record of 4.9 seconds in the 40-yard-dash while running backwards, making him the best cornerback in the Kanto Zone. Ikkyu is also proud of his jumping and catching ability. He tells Unsui that no one can beat him in the air. However, Kanto\'s best cornerback is nothing compared to Japan\'s best linebacker. Shin proves this to him in his first match against him. Ikkyu is one of the more friendly players on the team, but that doesn\'t make him any less serious when he plays in a match.

Nasa Aliens/Nasa Shuttles Players

The Nasa Aliens/Nasa Shuttles are the American team that the Deimon Devil Bats played when they represented Japan. The whole team consists out of white players, because of their biased coach Apollo. The team relied purely on strategy, regardless of each team member's talent. Coach Apollo changes the team's name to Nasa Shuttles after they barely win against the Deimon Devil Bats.

Hormer Fitzgerald
Birthday: 11/3
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 05
Position: Quarterback
40 Yard Dash: 5.6 sec
Bench Press: 130 kg
Hormer is the quarterback of the Nasa Aliens/Nasa Shuttles. He uses a countdown to launch the ball across the field, while his wide receiver Watt calculates the ball's landing point like Mission Control. The problem with this tactic is that it requires a longer time to initiate the pass, which leaves the quarterback open to blitzes that result in sacks. His dangerous pass is called the Shuttle Pass.
Panther
Birthday: 2/20
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 20
Position: Running Back/Safety
40 Yard Dash: 4.5 sec
Bench Press: 70 kg
Panther (his real name is Patrick Spencer) is the only African American in the team. He was the waterboy for the team in the beginning, but after his touchdowns against the Devil Bats the coach acknowledged him. He will probably (or finally) be a starting player, which was his dream since he joined the football team. His specialty is called the Zero-Gravity Run, which allows him to run at great speeds with extremely light footsteps. It looks like as he could run like water, using the minimal amount of movement to slide around obstacles. He also uses one hand to hold onto the ball, while the other is extended to block opposing blockers. Naturally, this gives his opponent a chance to slap the ball away, causing a fumble. Sena and Shin both show this flaw to him, and this teaches Panther that he needs to get more practice, if he wants to duel both of them again.

Seibu Wild Gunman Players

The Seibu Wild Gunmans are a strange, but skilled team. They were ranked second in the Spring Kantou Tournament. In the spring while training, they meet up with Sena, Mamori, Monta and Sena to become the Devil Gunmans in a beach football tournament.
The Kid
Birthday: 11/11
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 7
Position: Quarterback
40 Yard Dash: 5.6 sec
Bench Press: 70 kg
The Kid (his real name is Mushanokouji Shien) is Seibu Wild Gunmans's quarterback. The Kid and Tetsuma are one of the best quarterback - wide receiver combinations in Japan because Kid always knows where Tetsuma will be and his aim is almost perfect. He can even throw the ball to Tetsuma with his eyes closed. Kid's specializes in quick-draw shooting, what makes it almost impossible to sack him. He is a very laid back character but every time he recognizes that something goes too well, he predicts something bad will follow.
Tetsuma Jo
Birthday: 5/15
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 15
Position: Wide Receiver
40 Yard Dash: 5.0 sec
Bench Press: 115 kg
Tetsuma is like a robot. He follows every order and if you don't give him specific instructions, he easily leads the team to a disaster. Whenever The Kid calls a pass route, he dashes out and uses it as followed. This makes him perfect for his position as a Wide Receiver, since the Kid doesn't even have to look for him in order to pass. He has an ultimate route attack. His name represents a "steel horse" and he exactly acts as one because nobody can tackle a fast running "train" like him. One might say he is really stupid but an extreme instruction follower.
Kaitani Riku
Birthday: 4/20
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 29
Position: Running Back/Safety
40 Yard Dash: 4.5 sec
Bench Press: 60 kg
Riku considers himself Sena's "big brother". He is the one who taught Sena how to run. When Riku was in elementary school, he saw Sena being bullied and he used his speed to save him. After that Riku taught Sena how he could run fast to avoid the bullies. But instead, Sena used his speed to be a gopher again. Riku soon left Sena's school because his family needed to move, but he and Sena met again before the Seibu Wild Gunmans vs Devil Bats game.

Koigahama Cupids Players

Koigahama Cupids, known for bringing their girlfriends to games. There's not much to say about this team as their team really aren't that great. This is also the first team that the Deimon Devil Bats go up against with Eyeshield21 on their team.

Hatsujo Kaoru
Birthday: 4/26
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 19
Position: Quarterback
40 Yard Dash: 5.1 sec
Bench Press: 40 kg
Kaoru is the captain of the Koigahama Cupid and isn't really that talented. He always brings his girlfriend to the games, like the whole team. It is said that his girlfriend is really dumb. Sena made his debut as Eyeshield21 against his team.

Oujou White Knight Players

Oujou High School, home of the White Knights, is resembled as Notre Dame Cathedral to show that the school has a long and proud tradition of American Football like that of the University of Notre Dame. There team chant is "Glory on the Kingdom!"

Shin Seijuro
Birthday: 7/9
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 40
Position: Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 4.36 sec
Bench Press: 140 kg
Shin is called the fastest linebacker in the history of Japanese football. He is a silent guy, who is feared by many players because of his strength, speed and capability to read the game. His spear tackle is his trademark. Although Shin is in the shadow of his fellow player and movie star Haruto Sakuraba, Shin is the secret ace of the Oujou White Knights. Since Sena beat Shin in the last play of the second Spring tournament game, Shin trains as much as he can, to be ready for the rematch between him and Eyeshield 21 in the Christmas bowl.
Sakuraba Haruto
Birthday: 3/12
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 18
Position: Wide Receiver
40 Yard Dash: 4.9 sec
Bench Press: 70 kg
In his first year at Oujou Private Junior High, Haruto Sakuraba drew all the attention to himself because of his height. He became a Wide Receiver for the Oujou White Knights. With him, Shin entered the team. But coach Shogun was more interested in Shin than in Sakuraba. Being always in the shadow of Shin’s success, Sakuraba felt lonely. He couldn’t prove himself as a worthy player either. While he was walking down the street, Miracle Ito of Jari Productions noticed his good looks and height. Through Ito, Sakuraba became very famous. People, mostly girls, thought automatically that he is Oujou’s new ace. Since then he feels a lot of pressure on him in every game. Due a tackle by Sena, Sakuraba gets injured. In the hospital he meets Torakichi, who is a big fan of him. When he got out of the hospital, he finally decided to change and practice as hard as Shin does. Now his skills as a receiver improved and he can call himself an ace.
Takami Ichiro
Birthday: 9/14
Year: 3rd / Gr. 12
Jersey #: 3
Position: Quarterback
40 Yard Dash: 5.7 sec
Bench Press: 85 kg
Takami is Oujou White Knights quarterback. He is a very slow runner but his passes are thrown with precision and accuracy. Most of his training Takami spends calculating pass routes and passing the football to the players. He also has the ability, like Shin, to read games very well. He had an injury in the leg before and wasn’t able to be a quarterback, but he worked hard and eventually became one. Takami sees Haruto Sakuraba as his perfect receiver because they both are tall and will serve as quite a weapon in football.
Otawara Makoto
Birthday: 6/15

Jersey #: 60
Position: Lineman/Guard
40 Yard Dash: 5.4 sec
Bench Press: 140 kg

He is good friends with Shin and Takami. He also competes with Kurita all the time, to find out who the strongest lineman is.
Ikari Daigo
Birthday: 5/5
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 66
Position: Defensive Line
40 Yard Dash: ?
Bench Press: ?
Ikari is a temperamental character. He has yet to play in a game, so his true strength is unknown. Because of his behavior the team puts him in chains. For most of the games he gets disqualified, before they even started. He takes real pride in his team and whenever he hears someone talking trash about a team member or the coach he gets crazy and furiously. Oujou's coach sees in him, after all, an useful addition to the team.
